“Blue Danube Week” in Vidin

In the period between June 26 and 29, the next edition of the International Festival “Blue Danube Week” will be held in the city of Vidin. 20 volunteers from Romania between the ages of 18 and 30, who are participants in the “Blue Danube” project, financed under the Erasmus + program and implemented by the “Bokaia” Association in partnership with the Romanian organization Asociatia Tinerii 3D.

The mission of the festival is to draw attention to the importance and preservation of cultural and folklore heritage. It will include over 10 bands and more than 1000 participants from Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. Participants in the cultural and entertainment events will participate in a parade through the city center to the Baba Vida fortress, where an open-air cinema, opera and symphony will be held. Against the background of folk music from Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania, local ensembles will have the opportunity to present their concert program “Dances along the Danube” to local residents and guests of the city with their performances. The “My River” holiday is intended for students and children, which includes concerts, outdoor painting and a quiz. Also, the festival will begin with performances by the city brass band in the Danube Park and the participation of the Vidin Municipal Drama Theater.
The volunteers will take part in the organization and implementation of the International Festival “Blue Danube Week” by developing ideas for festival events and activities – posters, flyers, organizational and media plan, the concept of festival events, organizing creative and club forms, as well as by participating in the preparation and organization of an exhibition and photo exhibition. Flyers will be distributed to inform those interested about the creative workshops and events that are organized for the festival.
